Born from the unspoken knowledge…

..that women are not safe from harassment within this industry, and we’re here to change that.

Our goal is to build the future of a safer construction industry for women by developing and implementing improved regulations for companies and ensuring that the entire sector takes responsibility for its behaviour.

We want to be leaders and create leaders who will hold these unacceptable behaviours to account and empower others to do so too.

Who and why?

Australian born and London living with over six years of experience in the construction industry, I am Kellie Edwards.

I joined Battersea Power Station restoration project with no idea that there was the perfect role waiting for me as a Project Manager.

As the scaffolding came down, my career went up. Early 2023 I moved from main contractor and started freelancing, furthering my relationships and experience within the field.

For me, I’ve found the construction industry has been incredibly rewarding, and has left me surrounded by some of the brightest and most influential people I’ve met, leaving me with close friends in all corners of the world.

Unfortunately this time has also meant I’ve seen the side of construction which is ignored and brushed under the mat, harassment against women.

In offices, on site, in meetings, at socials. Whether conscious or unconscious, there is far too much which is seen as acceptable behaviour. Women are ridiculed for standing up for themselves. Jobs are lost over the demand for respect. We are taught to turn a blind eye. Instead of fixing the problem at hand, women have adjusted the way they conduct themselves to keep out of harms way.

I have been a witness, a sufferer, and survivor. And this is where it needs to end. Enter, ReConstruct.

Despite everything, I’m passionate about reshaping the culture of this industry and connecting with those affected by it, those that want to help change it and those willing to help path a new inclusive and safe industry for us all.
